Job Type: Full-time

Job Description: 2LMN, Inc. (2LMN) is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site/Civil Engineer with a specialization in hydrology and hydraulic engineering. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on experience in designing, analyzing, and implementing drainage systems and hydraulic structures for a wide variety of civil engineering projects. You will play a critical role in managing tasks, ensuring compliance with review and permitting agencies, and ensuring that systems are efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective. As part of our team, you will work on both private and public sector projects, collaborating with a range of stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, developers, architects, and environmental experts.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, analyze, and optimize drainage systems (stormwater, wastewater, and surface water) to meet project requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling and analysis to ensure efficient drainage solutions and prevent flood risks.
  • Lead the design and implementation of water retention and management solutions, including detention basins, retention ponds, and infiltration systems.
  • Develop and prepare technical reports, calculations, and drawings for drainage and hydraulic projects, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Review and assess the performance of existing drainage systems, providing recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
  • Coordinate with local municipalities and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with environmental and zoning regulations.
  • Manage and monitor the installation and construction of drainage and hydraulic systems, ensuring proper site practices and quality control.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, providing expert input on drainage-related aspects of larger civil engineering projects.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and support staff, offering guidance on technical issues, design solutions, and project management best practices.
  • Perform site visits to ensure the correct installation and ongoing maintenance of drainage infrastructure.
  • Work closely with clients, ensuring their needs are met, and that project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Monitor and address potential risks related to flooding, erosion, or water quality issues, proposing solutions to mitigate environmental impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 5-10 years of experience in drainage and hydraulic design and implementation within the civil engineering sector.
  • Expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software, such as HEC-RAS, HY8, HydroCAD, PondPack or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater management practices, floodplain analysis, and water quality management.
  • In-depth understanding of local drainage and water management regulations and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, OpenRoad Designer or other relevant design software.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, regulatory authorities, contractors, and team members.
  • Experience with both urban and rural drainage projects is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex hydraulic problems and design innovative solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
