This safety task order project consisted of analyzing and designing various improvementsto 44 separate intersections or pedestrian crossings within the City of Dayton. This project was located in a dense urban environment and required coordinating design with both ODOT and local City stakeholders. 2LMN provided analysis and design for accessible ADA crossings and increased pedestrian safety. Each location required intersection improvements unique to their location including curb extensions, refuge islands, additional and upgraded pedestrian signals, new ADA ramps, redesigned high visibility pavement markings, and upgraded/updated pedestrian signage. New catch basins were designed to alleviate ponding stormwater in the pavement, requiring extensive utility coordination to minimize conflicts. 2LMN met the accelerated project schedule and provided pedestrian safety improvements unique to each urban location. Construction was completed in 2021 under budget.
